I’ve been a little preoccupied with moving the past couple of weeks. Here are some things that have happened since we’ve last blogged: I had a wallet made for me… Paddy Hartley, a visual artist in the UK, makes handmade, limited-edition wallets that use illustrations from atomic civil defense and public information films, experimental aircraft [...]

This year all students are getting a commemorative guitar pick for participating in a student concert and/or studying with Brendan for the school year. One of my old classmates from Berklee, K Ishibashi, released an album with his band, Jupiter One, a few years ago. Two of the songs are available for download through iTunes. I cannot get these songs out of [...]

Sometime over the past few years, I made my life easier by preparing for gigs in advance. In the busy summer months I keep an amp in the car, my travel bag keeps all my pedals plugged-in, and every guitar has it’s very own guitar purse. My guitar purse is an extension of the pocket [...]

Currently, I’m focusing on two major projects in my practice time. The first is a Ralph Towner tune titled “Oleander Etude” from his new Album: Time Line (and his transcription book: Solo Guitar Works – Volume 1). It’s a technically challenging piece that works on the left hand & descending pull-offs, and when brought up [...]

From the iTunes website: “With the new iTunes “Complete My Album” service, music fans can now upgrade their singles into complete albums and get full credit for the songs they have previously purchased from iTunes. “Complete My Album” is a [...]
