Announcments!!

Here are a some things I’ve been working on:

Webcam Lessons:

Online LessonThat’s right! Now you can enjoy Guitar Lessons with Brendan Burns from the comfort of your own home!

I started teaching Guitar Lessons Online last month with a new student in Bangalore, India. We’ve been using Skype with a very basic microphone setup. The sound is incredibly clear and there is practically no lag time.

If you are interested in Webcam Lessons, drop me a line. The Free Intro Lesson still applies!

PayPal Services:

Now that guitar lessons are available online, it seems only right that billing should be there as well. I now can accept credit cards via PayPal for Guitar Lessons or Solo Guitar.

Site Re-Design:

This is my big project for the winter. I’ve been thinking about this for months now, and I finally decided to run the next version of this site entirely through Expression Engine. It’s a powerful & professional CMS system, and the more I want to develop this site into a resource for guitarists, the more EE seems to be the best tool out there. I still have a few months of work ahead of me, but I recently came up with a solid structure for the new format. Essentially, the site will be divided into three main sections: | Lessons | Solo Guitar | Projects |

Mockup

The Guitar Lessons category will house various lesson materials with the ability for comments to generate discussion. The Solo Guitar section will house mostly mp3’s and promotion for my Solo Guitar business. The Project section will hold all of my creative projects in a dynamic and interactive format.

I’m very excited about this, but still have a lot to learn. I’m going to be working on Valerie’s site as a warm up, and I’ll be posting a link to my testing environment when it’s appropriate.

New Category:

The newest section here is the “Sketches/Work-In-Progress” category. The “Sketches/WIP” category is intended to share scratch recordings and draft scores of tunes that are in the “development” stages. It’s meant to carry the torch of the WAlbum project to a more dynamic level.
