Tim gave me some good suggestions and offered an interesting way of looking at the tune fragment I’m working on. I took his advice and kept plugging away.

I had a follow-up appointment with my Neurologist this week, so I brought along my Moleskine book to keep me busy while in the waiting office (surprisingly, this is actually the 2nd tune that I’ve worked on writing while waiting to see a Doctor. It seems to be a very productive environment for me. It probably has something to do with my Mom being a nurse….). I wrote out the harmonic rhythm and added a melodic idea line. It’s not quite pitches, but more like melodic rhythm & shape. It helpful for me to keep in mind when improvising. I also added a derivative section. I’m not sure if it’s usable or not.
